Orion, wow this was truly heartachingly beautiful story of two lost souls. Orion, named for the Hunter, is hiding from life. Secluded in the wilderness of Alaska, he does not know how to live his life in society after losing his legs as Marine. His only company is his ever-faithful partner and Special Forces dog, Zeus, who he has had by his side through thick and thin on every mission. The have celebrated and suffered together. Their last mission leaving them both traumatised. Until the day Orion and Zeus are tested, having to rescue a hiker trapped under an avalanche. Little did they know that this was the beginning of the end of their isolated world.

I just cannot imagine the struggle that Orion and Zeus must face daily. To make it through such agonising torture and come out the other side only to be left permanently broken, damaged beyond belief and now living a life of solitude because it is what you think you deserve. Your life has become a living nightmare and there is no way you see to overcome the past. Their story is so emotionally charged and haunting that you are hoping something will come along to help drag Orion out of his daily living hell.

For Orion to still be so brave as to put his and Zeus’ lives on the line to save the hiker is a testament to the type of man he really his. Always putting other first, not able to watch others suffer and a hero to his very core. It is just such a shame that he is unable to see these qualities in himself.

This is my first read by author Raeah Wilding and I was pleasantly surprised by her style. The author did not leave you wanting for details. This story is jam-packed. There is a moving time-line, gritty and tear-filled flashbacks, an intoxicating chemistry between the two main characters that you want to drown in. The start is slow, the meeting is intriguing, the storyline is unstoppable, and you wouldn’t want to, the middle is incredibly sweet, and the ending is explosive and captivating. You will be blindsided by some of the twists and turns this story takes. This is the first in the constellations series, so it will be interesting to see the direction that the author is going to take.

I need to be there if she wakes up choking or gasping for air or for any number of other dangerous complications that could arise through the night.As I drift off tonight, something happens. Something new. Almost immediately, I’m dreaming.Dreaming of Hope.Some part of me remembers and knows she’s injured and in a coma—but here in my dream, she is very much awake.Very much alive.Reality and the dream morph together until I can’t quite tell them apart. Soon, the dream is as lifelike as anything.
