Title: Viking

Author: Kylie Hillman

Genre: MC Romance

About Viking:

Why does forbidden fruit always taste the sweetest? A filthy biker with a reputation for using his fists first and asking questions later, Victor “Viking” Kennedy wasn’t under the illusion that his marriage to Bonnie Dubois had the makings of a grand love affair. She was a prima ballerina—a snobby bitch who knew she was sex-on-legs. She was also ripe for a walk on the wild side with him. Their understanding was mutual. A year-long fling that kept them both satisfied until she headed overseas to pursue her dancing career. It was good while it lasted. The perfect arrangement that took a wrong turn and ended with a surprise pregnancy followed by a shotgun wedding. Nowadays, they’re just two parents doing their best to raise their son right. And, it was working until his VP’s teenage daughter sashayed her way into his life and turned everything on its head. She’s off-limits.   An indiscretion punishable by death. So why can’t Viking find a way to halt their growing connection?

EXCERPT

Vic drops me off around the corner from my house, and like usual, he sits there until he sees the front porch light go off. It’s our signal to say that I’m safely inside. His Harley bursts to life, the thudding engine out of place in the early a.m. hours in my strictly upper middle-class suburb. Leaning back against the door, I strain to hear every last note as he rides off into the distance.
“Is that you, Bon Bon?” my dad calls from the living room.
His childish nickname for me should be embarrassing at my age, instead it still makes me feel warm and loved. My parents are wonderful. They are the definition of the perfect nuclear family, priding themselves on keeping their marriage and careers ticking over like a well-oiled machine in this era of easy divorce. I know how lucky I am to have their unwavering support, which is why decisions like hanging with the Black Shamrocks MC and riding on motorcycles with bikers need to be kept from them.
My tendency to walk on the wild side would only upset them and that’s the last thing I want.
“It’s me, daddy,” I reply in a whisper-yell, careful not to wake my mum and siblings. “I’m busting for the loo. I’ll be back down in a minute.”
I’m still wearing Vic’s T-shirt and not much else. A quick trip to my bedroom to change is in order before I say goodnight to my father. The questions my attire would raise aren’t easily answered.
“No worries. I’ll put the kettle on. You’ve put in some serious hours at the studio this weekend. A nice cup of hot chocolate is just the treat you need.”
As far as my parents know, my nocturnal habits are the result of my crazy dance schedule. While I do dedicate a lot of hours to practice, my studio isn’t open at two in the morning—no matter what my parents may believe. But, I’m a good kid in my parent’s eyes and they’ve always worked under the belief that they can trust me until I prove that their trust is misplaced.
After quickly cleaning myself up—removing my liberally applied makeup and dressing in my usual dance uniform of tights, sports bra, and belly-skimming cotton T-shirt—I head back down to my dad. Like promised he has a steaming cup of hot chocolate waiting for me on the coffee table. He’s even snuck the biscuit tin out from wherever he had it hidden. My mum is always following some type of diet fad that the rest of us are browbeaten into doing with her so anything tasty needs to be smuggled into our house with all the precision of a military exercise.
“Good night?” Dad asks. He selects two biscuits, then slides the tin over to me.
“Yeah, not bad.” I ignore the biscuits and pick up my mug. Blowing gently over the hot surface, I smile at him.
“You’re spending a lot of time at the studio,” he states. “I know you’re disappointed, but I hope you’re not being too hard on yourself for missing out on France this year? We all know you tried your hardest, Bon Bon.”
My dad is too much. Tendrils of guilt begin to wrap themselves around my brain and I try my hardest to escape their grip. I’m definitely upset at being stuck in Brisbane for another twelve months, but I haven’t exactly upped the ante in the studio because of it. If anything, I’ve gone out my way to dodge extra work since I was told I didn’t make the cut this year.
Me and humble pie aren’t close acquaintances. Some of my behaviour toward the end of last season was a bit over the top. I thought I was a shoo-in and let my ego get the better of me. I was a smug bitch, and while most of my teammates are sympathetic to my disappointment, there’s a definite edge of gloating from those who take satisfaction in seeing me get my comeuppance.
“I’m okay,” I reply. “I have a spot next year so I’m—”
“Are you friends with Collen McCormack again?” Dad cuts me off.
Raising my gaze from the chocolatey goodness in the cup I’m holding, I meet his worried expression with a timid half-smile.
“Ah, not really,” I try to hedge. “Why do you ask?”
“The Sarge mentioned that he was worried about you and Sharleen meeting up with Colleen again.”
Bloody Shari! Her lack of control is going to get us all in trouble if she’s doesn’t get it together. First, she’s dabbling in coke with Brian, now she’s telling her police officer father that we’re still friends with Colleen. Our parents know that Colleen is involved with the Black Shamrocks MC now, but even before that, they’d forbidden us from seeing her any longer. After Colleen’s parents died and she moved over the other side of town to live with her uncle, her life moved onto a different trajectory to ours—one that made our parents nervous. Shari’s dad is a Sergeant, so he knows more than he should about the dark side of this city and he had gone out of his way to infect my usually easy-going parents with his paranoia.
“I don’t know why he’d say that,” I say with a shrug. “I haven’t even spent much time with Shari since she hurt her knee.”
My father doesn’t appear completely convinced. He runs his eyes over my face and I work to keep my expression as open and neutral as I can. On the inside I’m seething, but I can’t let my dad see that. Even though he has known Colleen since she was born, he’s let Shari’s father talk him into believing that she’s a bad influence. I’m not willing to risk my parents trust and my freedom to come and go and see who I please by showing him how pissed I am at my silly best friend. We’ve always been a trio and Shari’s stupid vendetta against Colleen isn’t getting in the way of seventeen years of friendship—or the fun I have planned for this year.
If Shari would only open her eyes and see that it’s not really Colleen’s fault that her knee was ruined. Truthfully, the blame is mine since I was the one who suggested that Shari would be fine to babysit, Colleen’s little sister, Kerry, while we went on a double-date with Vic and Cole.
“Here, you know you want another one,” I joke to break the silence. Selecting a biscuit, I push the biscuit tin his way. Dunking it in my hot chocolate, I savour the rich goodness and use it to give myself time to formulate an appropriate response. “Daddy, I don’t want you to worry about me. I’m fine, I swear. I’ve come to terms with missing out on France this year. I’m happy to have another year to spend with you and Mum. Please don’t let Shari and her dramatics get in the way of us enjoying our extra time together.”
Dad rolls his eyes. He knows what I’m alluding to. As Sergeant Lucian’s best mate, he gets to hear all about their ongoing problems with Shari’s behaviour since her injury. “As long as you promise to come to us if you need us, I’m happy to let you make your own choices. You’ve never given us any reason to doubt your judgement and I hope you never will.”
Draining my mug, I stand. The words I need to say—a complete lie if I’m honest—take a moment to form. “You have my word, dad. You’ll never have to doubt me.”

About Conan:

"You know how the story ends. Now, it's time to learn how it all began as Conan, Viking, Butch, Lenny, Doc, and the perennial bad guy, Beast finally have their say." The first book in the brand-new spin off to the International Bestselling Black Shamrocks MC series is finally here! Prospecting for the Black Shamrocks MC once Colin "Conan" Blake finished school was a no-brainer. His best friends were prospecting. His father was a ranking member. Hell, every man he knew was part of the MC. The only thing the Club wanted in return for a lifetime of brotherhood was unquestioning loyalty. It was that straightforward. Patching in meant he vowed to put the needs of the Black Shamrocks in front of everything else—even his own desires. He thought it would be easy. He was certain nothing could come between him and his brothers. That was until he met her. WARNING: This book contains depictions of graphic situations and is not suitable for all readers.

BABYJACKED by SOSIE FROST

Remington Marshall is the kind of gorgeous who turns a smoldering glance into foreplay.

He’s the man of my dreams. The love of my life.

...And he’s the prick who burned down my family's barn.

But, suddenly, the sparks are rekindling between us.

He’s cocky. He’s sexy. And he’s returned home after five long years to take care of his two young nieces.

So, of course, I offer to help nanny the girls. After all, it's purely professional, right?

I should have known better.

When a man doesn’t deserve a second chance...
He’ll just steal a woman’s heart.

Babyjacked is the first novel in a brand new romantic comedy series by Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Sosie Frost! Love stand-alone romances set in a connected universe? The Payne Brothers are sexy, deliciously tempting, and, like a real family--they can't stand each other. Fortunately, these small-town women know how to handle their men. Hearts will heal, one romantic comedy at a time.

Babyjacked is a complete standalone! This BWWM romantic comedy is 100% safe, contains no cheating or cliffhangers, and is guaranteed a heart-warming Happily Ever After.

“Give me one good reason why you can’t be their nanny,” he said.

I’d give him the best one. “We’re not even going to talk about the kisses?”

Wrong reason.

Rem’s voice lowered, a dark and caramel growl that layered me with regret and shivers and memories.

“Must have been some good kisses if you remember them after all this time.”

I didn’t look at his lips. “You mean you forgot?”

“I made myself forget.”

“Why?”

“Because thinking of that night is the reason I had to put three thousand miles of uncut wilderness and five years between us.”

In the past twenty-four hours, this man had made my heart ache so much I considered popping some of Dad’s leftover beta-blockers. I wasn’t about to let Rem twist me up any more.

“No one asked you to leave,” I said. “No one told you to go. It’s not heroic, Rem. It just hurts.”

“Good thing I’m a changed man.”

I’d never wanted him to change, only to be honest. “How can I trust you?”

“I’ll prove it. I got the kids. I got the bank account. The cabin. The responsibility. I’m different.”

“You’re still chasing me.”

His hound-dog grin should have run me up a tree. “Can’t blame a man for trying. It’s lonely in these woods. Gets real dark and cold at night. I’m looking for someone to warm me up.”

“And that’s why the answer is no. We have a history together.”

“Do we?”

The sadness kicked me in the gut. “We might have had a history.”

“Do you think there’s still a chance?”

“How could there be, after all that happened?”

He surprised me with a wink. “Then what’s the problem? Are you attracted to me?”

“No,” I lied.

“Then work for me.”

“I can’t.”

He smoothed that beard. Easier to see his smile. Harder to resist wondering how it’d feel scratching all over me. “What if I show you that this could be perfectly platonic?”

“How?”

“Kiss me.”

I poked him away with the broom. “And what would that prove?”

“That there’s nothing between us,” he said.

“That’s like leaving my credit card in the street to prove there’s no thieves around.”

“Not trying to steal anything from you, Sassy.”

That’s because there was only one thing left to give him, and I’d mercifully avoided that roll in the hay. “You’re out of your mind.”

“One kiss,” he said. “We’ll settle it once and for all.”

I focused on cleaning and scrubbed my way into the kitchen, hoping my hips didn’t sashay with every brush. He watched me, his gaze boiling over my skin.

“Why not?” Rem asked.

I didn’t have to lie. “Because it took me five years to get over our last kiss. I can’t spend the next five forgetting this one.”

“One kiss.” He edged too close for me to breathe, think, or defend my honor. “One little, teensy, tiny nibble of a kiss. I promise—I won’t even make a good one.”

“Is that possible?”

“I don’t know. I’ve never kissed bad before.”

“Then I can’t afford the risk.”

“For all we know, every kiss of mine becomes a five-year memory.” He towered over me, leaning in, his whisper playful and tempting. “And that’s just the kiss. Imagine what I could do with a touch. A lick. One night with me, and you might never forget it.”

“Or forgive it.”

“Good thing I’m only asking for a kiss.” He bumped my chin up with his fingers. “One kiss.”

“To prove there’s nothing between us…or to torture us for the rest of our lives?”

“You tell me, Sassy.”

He leaned in, capturing my lips with a playful, deliberate swipe. I gripped the broom, heart raging, pounding, attempting to crash through my chest and knock my head back into sanity.

Heat swirled between us, suffocating me in that woodsy, fresh-cut pine scent. Earthy and tempting and so much more than he was before. Everything was more. His words meant more. His eyes saw more. His touch offered more.

And his kiss…

Conquered and overwhelmed. My body pooled into softness. A murmur accidentally parted my lips. His tongue swept in. Gentle. Teasing. Wonderful.

His kiss was every perfect moment I’d imagined in the last five years. Every flirty nibble. Every sensual bite. Every casual, quick peck people took for granted.

In five seconds, he’d revealed everything he might have offered in those lost five years.

And I hated him for it.

And I melted for it.

And I was so much trouble.

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Congratulations,” Alanah says as she passes me the sewing kit I’ll need to fix my new patches onto my cut. “You’ll be a great addition to the Club.” I’m about to say thanks when she laughs. It’s a curious sound to hear in the current circumstances, and that’s enough to make me remove my gaze from where it’s drilling heated holes of hatred into the back of my dad’s head to meet her crystal-blue eyes. Alanah lifts one shoulder and quips with the exact amount wryness required to make me forget how angry I am. “Well, it’s not like the bar’s set all that high for you so I can be pretty confident in my prediction.” With the rest of the people who’ve attended our patch-in ceremony still voicing their outrage at my father’s behaviour, Brian’s little sister provides the perfect salve for my wounded pride. Her joke is what I need to hear—a humorous reminder that eclipsing my father isn’t what you’d call a challenge. “You’re something else.” I say as I lay my arm across her shoulders and pull her into my side. “Don’t ever change.” “Ditto,” Alanah replies without hesitation. Her pretty, blue eyes dance with delight. “And try to remember that you don’t have to be your father’s son.” “Right back at ya. You’re nothing like your mother, Lani.” I stare at her, unsure whether she’s going to appreciate my use of the nickname from her toddler years. She shows no signs of embarrassment. A slight widening of her eyes is all I get in return and it amuses me. In reality, no one should be this self-possessed at fourteen. It’s not fair to her that she’s missing out on the silly trials and tribulations of being a normal teen. I guess a shitty upbringing affects people in different ways. Some of us become an island, some of us fall into the numbness of drugs, while others become like Alanah. Too mature and always eager to help. The feeling of kinship created by our similar circumstances is responsible for what I do next. I know it’s wrong, even as I press my lips against her forehead. I brace for a reaction, only to be left hanging. Brian doesn’t launch himself at me for touching his little sister—no matter how innocent my action is—and, Alanah simply reaches up and squeezes my hand. I open my mouth to say something—what I don’t know—except the moment is interrupted when Bonnie pushes in between us. “Congratulations,” she purrs against my mouth seconds before her lips meet mine. I’m barely paying attention to her. I search for Alanah over her shoulder, just glimpsing her as she walks away from us without a backward glance. “Let’s celebrate.” The music has been turned back up and the spirits in the room are lifting. Bonnie tries to drag me behind her to the dance floor, but I pull my hand from hers. “Nah, I’ve got to do this first.” Holding the leather patches in the air, I buy myself some time to sort out my shit. “Be five minutes, tops.” Bonnie begins to roll her eyes at me, which I expected since she doesn’t really understand the inner workings of the Black Shamrocks yet, then she stops. A strange look flits across her face which stops her mocking dead in its tracks. She steps back into my space and places a soft kiss on my cheek. “You’re a good man, Vic.” I spend a second watching Bonnie walk across the bar to Shari and Colleen. That was the strangest interaction I’ve ever had with her—and that’s saying something since the first time I fucked her, she was bent over my Harley in the carpark of her High School. In broad fucking daylight. Bonnie doesn’t do soft kisses on the cheek. And, she sure as fuck, doesn’t tell anyone that they’re a good man. “What was that all about?” Brian asks me the moment I approach the rest of them. “Fuck knows.” I shake my head. “Just Bonnie being Bonnie.” Wrong answer. Brian grabs the front of my shirt and hauls me toward him. “Not Bonnie, fuck face. Alanah. Who. The. Fuck. Said. You. Could. Kiss. Her?” “Come on,” Cole protests before I can. “It was nothing.” He pushes his big body between me and Brian with ease. He’s a protector, through and through. Proving that his dad named him correctly, unlike mine. How the fuck did I end up dubbed ‘Viking’? “Yeah?” Brian tries to push around Colin. His previous drugged out state has been replaced by misdirected anger. “Didn’t look like nothin’ to me.” I step out of his way, holding my hands in the air. “Man, I swear to you. I was just saying thank you to her for making me laugh.” He pauses, seeming to ponder my explanation. Something clicks in his head and he steps around Colin. Our giant friend regards him with suspicion but lets him pass. “Dude,” Brian puts his arms around me and slaps me on the back with one hand. “I shoulda realised you’re upset about your dad.” I revise my previous assessment of how high he still is. There’s no way he’d be hugging me if he wasn’t off his head more than I assumed. Brian usually shies away from any physical contact that doesn’t include fighting or fucking. “He’s a dick, but it’s not like it’s the first time.” I tried to move away from him. Brian refuses to let go. I try to pull away again. He steps back just far enough that he can stare me in the eyes. His pupils aren’t as dilated as they were earlier, although they’re still bigger than they should be. But that’s not what catches my attention and stops me from trying to get out of his grasp. It’s the deadly intent that I read in his gaze that halts me. “I’ll let you get away with it this one time. Touch Alanah again and I’ll kill you,” Brian states, with bare honesty. He sweeps a hand through the air, gesturing to the room we’re in. “She’s destined for more than this. She deserves more than this and I’m not letting you, or anyone like you, stop her from reaching her potential.” Rage rushes through me. It pounds like waves in rough surf, back and forth, rising and fall, all in an instant. Rushing to the fore as I realise that he’s basically called me trash, then receding a moment later when it hits me that Brian’s right. I’m not from good stock. And he, better than anyone, knows it. Doesn’t mean he gets a free pass for saying it to my face. “Fuck you,” I enunciate with precision. “And fuck anyone else who thinks I’m unworthy. I’m not interested in Alanah like that, but if I was, no one would get in my way. I’m not my father and I refuse to dance in his shadow for the rest of my life. I am more than capable of making a run for VP, or even President if I choose.” Shari and Bonnie come into view. They both seem happy, giggling and dancing about, all that shit girls do when they want to be centre of attention. Brian sees them when I do and steps out of my space. He inclines his head once—it’s both acknowledgement and a threat. “Yeah?” he asks in a mocking tone. My arms feel heavy with the need to wipe the sneer off his face. “We’ll see about that, Viking.   For a limited time, CONAN, the first book in Kylie’s BLACK SHAMROCKS: FIRST GENERATION series is free!

The only nod to my roots is my annual trip for a celebrity spotlight fix, but when I receive a call that forces an impromptu return home, everything I left behind comes barreling to the surface.

Ragan Prescott

Determined, resilient and born of a drug addict …
From the outside, my life was that of a free-spirited girl who grew up in a normal household, yet nothing normal happened behind the doors of a house I came to hate.

Breaking away from the family dysfunction, I embark upon the life I’ve always wanted in Blue Ridge. But when I fall prey to the charms of a silver-tongued devil, it becomes a life I have to escape.

Will a small town hero be my only chance at survival? Will my broken soul mend his?

Can our Shattered Beginnings become the fragile pieces from which love is made?

Shattered Beginnings by Lilly Wilde

"Lilly Wilde was from her first books my absolute favorite author. She has obliterated any other author with this book.. The writing, the way it progresses through their day to day lives... So vivid and full of raw emotions, so true... Just wow... Wow...”

Goodreads Reviewer

"Shattered Beginnings sets itself apart from the very onset in that it makes no apologies for its emotion, sometimes visceral, connecting to and tugging at your heart. I loved that this is not the typical love story. These characters have been through so much and a glimpse into their childhood experiences shows that they have survived but not without scars. The author doesn’t shy away from the ugliness that life has offered and instead shows their perseverance and survival in such a way that you root for them, even when making mistakes. The story reads with a cinematic feel, allowing the reader to go along for the ride, getting to know each character on a personal level at a real time pace. They’re written so well that even the side character storylines and arcs are engrossing and all
consuming."

Goodreads Reviewer

“As always, you weave a beautifully told story, even if it breaks my heart.”

“The story is fraught with serious subject matter but handled so well that it flows from start to finish without pause. It’s almost “experienced” more than it is read.”

“This story is so beyond what I expected. It’s so full of raw emotion and pain. I feel as though your writing is once again pulling me deeper into a story I may never recover from.”

“It felt real and as a reader I was swept up into each moment as if I were there. My heart hurt, I was angry, and I felt the confusion, the hope, the pessimism—all of it. I am in awe of how realistic these characters are being portrayed. When it is ugly, they are allowed to be in that moment without a rush to make it all better, or half-baked excuses for the whys and hows of it all. Sometime life just sucks, it’s hard, it’s messy and you do the best you can—that is completely encompassed in these characters!! They feel real, like people you actually know and therefore can easily relate to.”

You Can't Resista Dirty Book Review of Shattered Beginnings

Shattered Beginnings what is there to say, if you thought Lilly Wilde broke the mold when she brought us the Untouched Series, she has "shattered" it with the highly emotionally charged tale. From the outset, you can feel the damaged suffered by these two characters, personally I don't know how she does it, I am rung out just from reading *major book hangover*. The opening book of this duet is majorly different from Lilly's other work. I was stunned by the direction the book took me in, and for me it was so not long enough. Once I started reading I was hooked from chapter 1, crying by chapter 2 and ready to explode by chapter 3. Can you imagine how I felt by the end?

Ragan is so strong and brave. I have to commend her, I don't think I would have survived like she had, but not without scars that run deep. She is extremely wary of everything and everyone and does not trust easily at all.

Branch is a first class a-hole and he freely admits this. He is emotionally detached. I think this is to protect himself from exposing his vulnerability and be taken advantage of, maybe? He makes no apologies for his behaviour, he does what he likes how he likes.

There are some funny moments between Ragan and Branch. Their interactions are filled with tension and hostility. And there are some adorable moments but you will have to read to know what they are.

If you are a fan of Lilly then you will not be disappointed. give it a chance it is hella good xox

Lilly Wilde is the Author of The Untouched Series (Untouched, Touched, Touched By Him, Only His Touch and Forever Touched). She is a wife and mom who loves to fill each day with happiness and laughter. Lilly loves to dream, get lost in fantasy and create alternate worlds in which we can escape ever so often. She’s down-to-earth, engaging and compassionate with a great sense of humor. Her laughter is one of the first qualities that you’ll notice; you’ll become instantly drawn to her witty and fun-loving spirit.

Lilly spent a lot of time daydreaming as a child which led to numerous hours of reading and eventually the writing of poetry. The first story Lilly began writing was entitled He Lied To Me, a novel she plans to complete in the near future. After years of starting and stopping several novels, she eventually set a goal to complete her debut novel, Untouched. Her stories are of strength, growth, facing demons and stepping outside your comfort zone; they often surround topics of family and love and the beauty of both.
