The Heart of Us (Love in Isolation, #4)The Heart of Us by Kennedy Fox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Heart of Us by Kennedy fox is book 4 in their Love In isolation series. Each book is a complete standalone but the lives of all the characters are interconnected somehow. For instance the hero in this story is the brother of Tristan who got his story told in book 3.

It is a close proximity, reverse age-gap romance, meaning that the woman is the older party in the couple. It is a very slow burning journey for Tatum and Easton but there is reason for this and it also didn’t really feel like it was slow as there was just so much chemistry between the two characters. You could feel is oozing off the pages.

Tatum, our heroine, is hiding out from her controlling ex-husband, she needs a job and a place to live, insert Easton Belvedere, Surf shop owner, all round good guy and total hottie. Their connection is instant and Easton will not let Tatum get away. So he offers her the job and apartment (right across the hall). All is going smoothly, albeit they are hiding their attraction to each other because of the boss/employee thing.

A couple of months later and tragedy strikes. Easton shop is destroyed in a fire and both must go into hiding from Tatum's ex at Easton's family beach house. Time spent together so closely everyday allows the connection to deepen. Easton is a very patient and attentive person. He lavished attention, complements and adoration on Tatum. All of is totally foreign to her. But she takes it in her stride and soon is starting to believe that maybe she does deserve something good in her life.

Tatum's life before Easton was filled with humiliation and pain maybe if she let's down her guard and opens her heart to a new experience a whole new world of possibilities will become hers for the taking.

Tatum and Easton stroy is so sweet and heartfelt I truly enjoyed every moment I spent reading their story and I hope you will to, Enjoy❤️
