OMG!! Did I just read that! Yes I think I did!! Twisted Heartbreak is book one in The Siege duet and is also my first read from N. Isabelle Blanco. It is a dark, sinister, angst filled second chance romance, and it actually has most of my top romance tropes in there. It is written in duel POV (my fav!), and has flashbacks chapters. These are very clearly marked and are crucial to the storyline. The story follows Andrew Drevlow and Lexi Berkman, and how obsession leads to madness. Childhood friends, split by school hierarchy, secret crushes they dare not speak aloud, that once they come together can no longer be ignored, only for disaster to strike and for them to be separated. It would seem that the whole world is out to get them.

Andrew has always loved Lexi, even from a young age. As he grows, the love deepens and turns into an obsession he is trying desperately not to act on. On night the gloves come off and there is no turning back. Once they are forced apart, Andrew descends into madness. Lexi would seem to be the only thing keeping him going. Once he takes the helm of Drevlow Systems Inc. all bets are off and he will employ all his resources into finding Lexi and taking revenge on those who sought to keep them apart. The epitome of the Anti-hero, Andrew is dark, brooding, screwed up by his past and determined to find his girl at all costs. The darkness living inside has finally found an outlet and it mercy on those who come between him and Lexi, as he no longer knows the meaning of the word. The world will tremble and fall before he allows Lexi to escape him again.

Lexi, our heroine, has not had it easy. Beautiful, nay stunning, but a loner, classed as a nerd, Lexi always kept to herself. I didn’t help when she lost her best friend as he was thrown in with the popular kids, but at 18 her chance to be with him finally presented itself and she dived in with both feet. She never realised it would be so short lived. The anger and betrayal led her into the clutches of a psycho, hell bent on using her for his own gain. Now revenge is all she can handle, yet one look at Andrew after all these years and the memories and feelings weaken her knees and leave her reeling. Her plan is to avoid him, but how can she do that when he constantly puts himself in her path. He lost he once, it will not happen again.

I cannot believe how absorbed I have become by their story. My heart is in dire need of a rest after all the ups and downs. I am salivating for book 2. Andrew and Lexi do not have an easy journey. There is many evils out to take them from each other for their own selfish reasons. They must stay together to fight for what they want. And what a fight it is going to be. The descent into darkness in book 1 is steep, if book 2 continues in the same way I think I will go mad right along with them. Twisted Heartbreak was the perfect title for this book!!🖤💔
