Wow, what can I say, this was a highly charged emotional
book. It was gripping and intense. I have only read one of this author’s books
before, Beast, and this author certainly knows how to write her leading
men. They are a lot broken and in
desperate need of a personality transplant.
They have been hardened and shaped by their past and are encased in ice.
Daire and Lola, I thought were an amazing pairing. They are both so filled with self-loathing
over everything that has happened between them in their shared past that it is
affecting everything that could be in the future.
Lola is a wild free spirit, she normally wouldn’t care about
her looks, the fact that she is gorgeous and what everyman wants is beside the
point. Lola has no idea of her appeal
and it has made her self-esteem take a knock as she settles for men who never
treat her right. Although the one man
that she wants to sweep her away, is also the man that has caused her the most
pain and suffering in her life.
Adrian Daire, successful, womanising, addict. He wasn’t always this man and his early years
were not easy, but they have shaped him into the man he is now.
Lola has been a pain in his backside from they were teenagers,
at least that is what he will lead you to believe. Yet 12 years later he still meets her they
still meet once a month for dinner.
These two are possibly the worst possible people to each
other and yet they cannot help themselves.
Gluttons for punishment, but it make for an extremely entertaining
read. I was glued to my kindle, couldn’t
put it down, the chemistry and intrigue between these characters just pulls you
into the pages. Definitely worth the
read.

A. Zavarelli is a book junkie, cat lover, and traveler when plagued by intense cases of wanderlust. She likes all things chocolate, books that come with warnings, and putting her characters through hell.
Her tales have been known to flirt with darkness and sometimes court it unabashedly altogether. Revenge themes and tortured souls are her favorites to write and this gives her an excuse to watch bizarre and twisted documentaries in her spare time.
