I saw her first.
Blonde. Gorgeous. Feisty.
I was smitten.
But it didn’t matter because she chose him and he was my best friend and roommate. I’d never be able to compete with that, so I pushed her away instead. It was easy when she lived hours away, and I didn’t have to see her every day, but then she moved in with us.
Now, I’m screwed.
To her singing in the shower every morning, dancing in the kitchen while she makes coffee, and doing yoga in our living room, I can’t stop thinking about her in all the wrong ways. She’s not mine and never will be, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to push her against a wall and claim her mouth.
She’s constantly on me for making messes, bringing chicks home every weekend, and being a smartass when their PDA gets on my nerves. Considering neither of them know how I feel, it’s not fair for the way I act toward them. I should move out so I can get over her for good; however, the selfish part of me can’t let go.
But then the unthinkable happens...
When my best friend dies in a motorcycle accident, the two of us are left to grieve our loss together. Instead of pushing her away, I pull her closer.
Just as we come to terms with our new reality, she finds out she’s pregnant with his baby.
And I’m left to make the hardest decision of my life...

"Two people bound by grief.
Two people who can never be together.
Two people who need each other more than ever."
This quote just completely sums up this book in my opinion.
I think we have another knockout Duet series on our hands!! Baby Mine is book 1 in the Roommate Duet series and boy oh boy did this book keep me glued to the pages. A brief outline: Hunter meets Lennon, Lennon falls for Hunter's best friend Brandon - unknowing that Hunter saw her first. For two years Hunter keeps his feelings for Lennon under wraps, both Lennon and Brandon are oblivious and Hunter hides behind a forced hate for Lennon, which is amplified once Lennon moves in, Brandon has been Hunter's best friend forever so he would never do anything to jeopardise that. However when tragedy strikes Hunter pulls himself together to be a rock for Lennon to lean on. He thought his feelings were hard to deal with when Brandon was still with them but it is now a million times harder but he is determined to be there for Lennon in a ny capacity she needs, regardless of how it may be slowly gutting him.
This book was explosive chemistry right from the get go. Hunter and Lennon's connection was smouldering, instant and impossible to deny, so why does the unexpected happen. Lennon has a lot of insecurities about men given a previous relationship and her lack of experience, and she let those insecurities steer her in a different direction. Brandon was gone to the moon for Lennon, and I was happy for them, but you cannot help but feel so sorry for Hunter, having to watch the first woman to connect with him that way, fall in love with his best friend must be gut wrenching, and to have to live with her everyday just made it worse. So he did what every man does to spare his feelings and ego, he drives Lennon completely up the walls just to get under her skin.
Now even though Lennon is with Brandon, you can still get the hints of her connection with Hunter. His attitude towards her and the endless stream of women probably wouldn't pee her off as much if she hadn't experienced their initial meeting.
This book is full of love and hate, laughs and tears. I have to say when Brandon died I got a little misty eyed. Two broken souls, grieving the same loss, now leaning on each other to put their lives back together. To Lennon she cannot understand Hunter's transformation, she now feels guilty that the man who seethed with hate at her, will now do anything to make her life easier. What could possibly happen next, oh yes throw a baby into the mix and lets see what happens.
Now if you are an experience Kennedy Fox reader, you know how their duets go, well this one is jaw dropper that will have you clawing at your e-reader to get your hands on book 2. I cannot wait to see where this fantastic writing team take this story. Only a month to wait, so why does it seem like forever! Baby Yours coming soon!!!!
