The Blackshamrock’s MC world is about to be rocked in this explosive new installment in the First Generation series. In case you are unfamiliar, these books are a spin-off from Kylie’s original Blackshamrock MC series and follows the life and times of the first born legacy of the club (the parents) and how the tangled web of lies and deceit spills over into the original series. The world that Kylie has built is filled with murder, mayhem and mischief. So complex are the relationships within the First Generation, and all is certainly not as it seems. You are pulled into the fray, sucked into the vortex, it is definitely were you want to be!! It is so crazy that you want to put yourself through the gauntlet of these emotions experienced by these characters, they literally jump from the page. It appears that deception and lies are not as uncommon as you were led to believe. Intriguing? You bet it is. This story was fantastic. I loved the characters of Anita and Butch, although a bit of an unconventional start the relationship that blossoms is truly beautiful. Brian “Butch” Kelly is a character that up until now we know very little about, except that he is Alana’s sister and Vic “Viking” Kennedy’s best mate. They are the two people in his life that he trusts unequivocally. He knows his brothers will have his back but there has always been a special bond between himself and Viking. You saw how this relationship was put through the mill in Viking’s book, and there is a timeline overlap in Butch’s story so you get to see how the situation between Viking and his sister pushes Butch too far. A protector at heart, he will go to great lengths for those he loves. Butch had to grow up fast. With his parents being so self-absorbed, it fell to him to look after his sister. This has led Butch to become filled with anxiety and feelings of rejection and abandonment. He uses these emotions as a suit of armour, and refuses to build any meaningful relationships outside if the ones with his sister and brothers. That is until he feels the undeniable pull to petite black haired beauty who isn’t afraid to meet his eyes and stand her ground, even if she is the same age as his teenage sister. It hits like a lightning bolt, but Butch must fight against the pull as she is far too young for him. Anita has no such qualms. Anita is a kind, soft spoken girl. Quiet, she is unable to relate to kids her own age, so kind of stands alone. Rejected by her family at an early age, Anita is older than her young age. The new girl at school she is quickly brought into the fold by the Blackshamrock princess' Grace and Alana. It becomes very apparent that she has more in common with Alana and the bond forms instantly. Anita is quick to recognise a kindred spirit, her pull to Butch. She can sense his pain, and all she wants to do is offer him comfort, well maybe not all *wink wink*. But Anita is not all as she seems. The lies are piling up, crushing her spirit, leading a double life she wants no part in. Rejection, denial and love are the name of the game and Anita is playing for keeps. Butch is more cautious, afraid of getting hurt as he has been in the past. One party, one night and lots of booze and drugs, Butch, to his utter disbelief, wakes up next to the one thing he has wanted for years, and this time he is determined to keep her. However, a roadblock in the form of a little blonde boy gets left on his doorstep, and Butch’s entire life flips on its axis, all he can see is his boy and his woman nothing else is important.
