Just some adjectives I would use to describe the prequel to the Deadly Virtues Series. In true Tillie Cole style, the reader becomes engrossed in this new world and lives of the characters. You just cannot help yourself, the story is like a black hole and you are helpless against being sucked in, becoming addicted to where the next chapter will take you.
An impeccably written introduction to the inception and how the Fallen came to be. I was deeply in shock by the end of this book. Told from the point of view of one of the Fallen, Gabriel, I completely fell head over heels for him. So different to his fellow Fallen, his story, you cannot help but love him. The unexpected path he finds himself on, the decisions he must face, his journey takes some dramatic twists that will leave you holding your breath and releasing in a giant whoosh.
An excellent beginning to what I am sure will be yet another awesome series from this author. I cannot wait to see where Raphael's book leads us next!
